Introduction

Neminatha Basadi is at near Karkala, the Neminatha Basadi is a Jain temple located in Varanga village in Udupi district of Karnataka, India. It was constructed in the year 1329. It is location is near the Bahubali Betta/ Gomatheshwara statue which is about 500 meters or 0.5 km away. The deity presiding inside the temple is of Mulnayak Bhagwan Neminatha. The Basadi is located in a small village, named Varanga. Also, there are three Basadi located together in the same premises. Neminatha Basadi is a stone temple built in 9th century. The shrine is 70 by 70 feet (21 m × 21 m) in dimensions with a thatched roof. The temple has a ornate torana housing an image of seated tirthankar. Also, there is Lord Mahavir Houses, house of Chandranath Swami, Adinath Swami, Ananthanath and Padmavathi Basadi and the Bhujabali Brahmacharya Ashram are situated in the same complex. Neminatha Basadi is located at a distance of 70 km from Mangalore, 37kms from Udupi and 25 km which are almost about an hour away from Karkala indeed.
