History:

The Ugamkondeshwarar Temple is believed to be around 1000 years old. However, over time, much of the ancient temple has been lost, and only the Lingam remains.
The temple faces east and is situated on the seashore. It consists of a sanctum (garbha griha) and a mukha mandapam.
The sanctum houses the Lingam of the presiding deity, Ugamkondeshwarar. The sanctum is covered with a sheet roof, and the mukha mandapam has a thatched roof. A Nandi statue, also covered by a sheet roof, faces the sanctum.

The temple celebrates various Shiva-related festivals with great enthusiasm, and Masi Magam, in particular, is observed with grand festivities.
