Puranic Significance:

  • The temple is dedicated to Navaneetha Krishna Swamy, a form of Lord Vishnu.
  • Navaneetha Krishna Swamy is depicted holding a Butter Pot in both hands, with a smiling face, and he faces east.
  • Garuda, Lord Vishnu’s vehicle, is depicted facing the sanctum with folded hands, symbolizing reverence.
  • The Thala Vriksham (sacred tree) of the temple is an Amla Tree (Indian gooseberry), and the Theertham (sacred water) is Chithar River.
  • The Dwajasthambam (flagpole) of the temple is made of gold, adding to its significance.
  • The Urchavar (processional deity) is Navaneetha Krishnan, accompanied by Sridevi and Bhoodevi, and is located in the Mandapam in front of the sanctum.
