Introduction

                                 Babushettikulam Somanatha Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Babushettikulam, Kumbakonam circle, Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu. This Babusettikulam Shiva Temple is a small temple. Here the Presiding deity is called as Somanatha in the form of Lingam and Mother is called as Shankaranayaki. There is a small Nandi in front of Lord Somanath to the east and Lord Vishankaranai to the south. This is a temple built by the people of this area after the old temple was destroyed. There are two sanctuaries, one lingam and sandesar. However, this Lord has occupied a place in the hearts of the people of this region. The Temple is believed to be 500 years old.
