Introduction

17 km southeast of Ariyalur. This shiva temple located on the banks of the Maruthayar. Adimatyarchuneswarar – The site of the blessing of Brihatkujambika Periyakoil according to the name of Periyathirukkonam. The Rajagopuram would have been three storeys high and now only the Kalharam remains. The temple is surrounded by granite pillars and stone slabs. There is a separate shrine outside Lord- Adimathiyarjunar Goddess- Prakadujambal. The temple is in a state of complete disrepair.
