Introduction
From Thiruvarur- Mayiladuthurai Road at Kangalancheri and proceed about 1 km west, you can reach the Nagakudi Agathiswarar Temple. Sri Anadavalli – Sri Agastheeswarar temple at Nagakudi near Thiruvarur. This temple must be probably 2000 years old and currently in ruins completely. The vigrahams are in thatched shelter for a long time. There is a separate sannidhi for Sri Mahalakshmi here. The Lord here was consecrated and worshipped by Sage Agasthiar. It is believed, the Lord was worshipped by Nagas and snakes used to frequent this place. Worshipping in this temple during Pradosham relieves one from severe ailment, protects from poisonous beings and blesses with Siva Gnana, the supreme knowledge. Praying profusely for the revival of this great temple. Its present conditions of this is completely ruins. The Agathiswarar temple that we see now must have been famous at one time, we can clearly see the appearance of the presesnt condition of the temple.

This Temple is renovated by “Aranpani Trust” last year . The Kumbhabhishekam happened on Sep 3rd 2023. New View of the temple looks great.
