Fueled by his newfound powers and arrogance, Bhasmasur sought to turn Lord Shiva to ashes. In response, Lord Shiva took refuge in a cave and appeared atop the mountain. He received help from Lord Vishnu, who transformed into a beautiful enchantress named Mohini. Mohini deceived Bhasmasur into touching his own head, ultimately causing him to self-destruct. This mountain peak, where Lord Shiva is said to have stood, is now known as Shrikhand Mahadev.
