Introduction

Kurichi Abhimuktiswarar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Kurichi village, Nagai circle, Nagapattinam district, Tamil Nadu. From 4 km on the west road, Nirthanamangalam; to the south of this is the village of Kurichi village. Here the Primary deity is called as Abimuktiswarar and Mother is called as Abirami.

Puranic Significance

There is a large pond in the middle of the town; a large house was seen on its bank, and there the old man (lord) and his family were in that big collapsed building. The house (temple) is said to be more than 1500 years old. Once upon a time, people lived in this town, and they also had a sense of land in this town. Front and rear leaves large shoots cracked in all wind, rain and sun. There was a big hall where many people used to come to see him and tell their grievances. Seeing this happening, some of the neighbours came and started to take the house, and left it as it was, like the electricity carrier who did not pay the electricity bill without any income. Two old people have no water to bathe, no light, no income, no money, no clothes. When the people saw him and came to worship him, a man who was watching over them, took revenge on him for stealing, so he is no longer there either.

Even he who is in the house of Patha, who has come so far, is able to carry the elder one by one foot, including Vinayaka, the moon, the sun, Bhairav, Chandi, and the responsible Dakshinamurthy, all of them should be in one small place. The hardships and losses of this great man can be seen from the front of his rearing cow and the old royal tree on which it is built.
