Introduction

The Ethapur Muthumalai Murugan Temple is dedicated to Lord Murugan, located in the Puthira, Goundanpalayam suburb of Yethapur in the Salem district of Tamil Nadu. This temple is notable for having the tallest Murugan statue in the world. The statue stands at a height of 111 feet, with a pedestal that is 35 feet high, making the total height 146 feet. The primary deity of the temple is Subramaniar (Murugan). Every year, the event of Surasamharam is celebrated grandly at this temple. The temple’s Kumbabishekam (consecration ceremony) was held on Monday, April 6, 2022.
