Introduction

Ithalam is the 76th place among the 108 Divinities which received the Mangalasana of Perumal . The hill country is divine. The 18-foot-long marvel created by 12,000 windows at Namperumal Italam. The temple has a seven-tiered tower with a height of 100 feet. The temple is located close to the Padma Tirtha. The porch of the temple complex has pillars carved in black stone. When you go inside the temple, the corridors of the temple are so big that you have to look at the pillars on both sides and the sculptures carved in it. Each of the pillars in the hall near the flagpole is very carved. And the sea sand area on one side of the porch in the inner courtyard of the temple is very beautiful for us to see. On the south side of the temple, Yoga Nrusimhan, Hanuman in front of the Sannidhi and Krishna behind the Sannidhi. The butter applied to Hanuman does not melt or spoil in any summer, no matter how long. The Lakshmi Varahar Temple and the Srinivasa Temple are located on the south side. It is also known from the manuscripts that Lord Cheraman built this temple in the first place and made arrangements for worship, festivals and temple administration. The temple was renovated nine thousand years ago. After that the Sri Padmanabhar temple and its properties were ruled by a powerful zamindar named Pillamar in the Ettu house, and an organization called Ettara Yogam became their guide. Marthanda Varman then defeated the Pillamars and their dynasty “chick brothers” in battle and captured the temple. The temple was last renovated by Marthanda Varman, the former Maharaja of Travancore. Once, in 1686, when a major fire broke out in the temple premises, part of the wooden idol was burnt down. The event shows that the Lord was a little angry with the king who was taking care of the kingdom that day. It was at that time that the original wooden idol of Iluppai was removed and a new one was erected in 12008 by the village of Salak and the Ashtapandana compound called “Kadusarkara”Ananthasayana Murthy ” was dedicated.

Puranic Significance

The Swamis of Vilvamangalam used to worship Narayana daily to melt their minds. However, realizing that he was at fault, Narayanan, thinking that he should realize it, one day made a prank on him by playing with him in such a way as to disrupt his worship and destroy the flowers. The Lord pushed the boy away so that the impatient swamis would not disturb him. . Realizing his mistake, Preacher Ananthan left worried that he did not know where the forest was. After wandering for many days, he could not find the forest. Ananthan asked many people and they did not know where the forest was. He found the forest amidst many difficulties. There were many stones and thorns. Though he advanced past them eager to see the Lord. He finally saw the Lord. He was not “Unnik Kannana” then, but appeared in the form of Lord Vishnu in the Anantha Sayanam. His figure was found to be very large. And because he took such a large form, the sage begged that he could not see Vishnu properly, as well as that he could not come to Pratakshana i.e. Valam. He also prayed to the Lord to shrink the penis three times the amount in his hand and make a scene for him. The Lord, too, immediately appeared as he had prayed and taught the devotee moments that he should be worshiped through the three gates. It is through these gates that we are serving the Lord today. Through the first door. We worship Lord Shiva, through the second door we worship Brahman who is in Napikamala and through the third door we serve the feet of Vishnu, believing that by doing so we can attain salvation. Again the Lord anointed the preacher. He told the Lord that he was hungry and added salt to the mango found in the forest and put it in a coconut shell. He then informed the King of Travancore. The king, taking with him the Brahmin priests of the eight monasteries, set out for the forest of Ananthan. But, there is no Swami.
