Puranic Significance

72 square years ago, the three Maharishis, Pullavar, Kalavar and Kannavar, performed penance for Perumala in the Thirupullani forest, where the present temple is located, full of Dharpa grass. Perumal, who was delighted with their meditation, had earlier appeared as the royal tree. Although the Maharishis were pleased to see it, they asked Perumal to display it in real sorority. Adijeganatha immediately accepted the request of the Maharishis and made a grand display. That amendment is the one that is currently in progress in Thirupullani. Later a separate shrine was erected to Mother Padmasani. Dasarathan received the teachings of the Blessed Sacrament of the Son of Perumal here and gave birth to a son, Sri Rama Prana. Sayana Raman: Rama, who went to Sri Lanka to rescue Seetha, waited for three days after seeking permission from Samudra Rajan to build a bridge across the sea. Then, he lay down on the tarpaulin. Based on this, the idol of Rama is spread out on the adhesion and the idol is carved in it to lie down. Sita is not the head because he stayed before going to retrieve Sita. Since addiction is a form of Lakshman, there is no Lakshman. There is only Anjaneyar. There are sun, moon and gods who suggested building a bridge over the original wall. To receive the boon of the child: Dasaratha performed the Putrakameshti Yagya for the blessing of the child. He gave to his wife the potion that had emerged from Yagakunda. Children (Rama brothers) were born to Dasaratha Pathini who drank it. Based on this, the husband and wife have to bathe in the Sethukkarai sea in the early morning at the place where Rama worshiped and come to the temple and fast for a whole day to the Nagar idol which is given there. It is said that the child will be blessed if he stays in the temple that night and then formally performs Nagapratishta and Puthira Kameshtiyagam the next morning and drinks the milk offered as an offering. The place where Perumal preached the original mantra of Buddha Blessing to Dasarathan. The Nagalingam dedicated to Dasaratha is still in the temple. The royal tree (which is said to be the scene of the Perumal) is centuries old Song Bridge: This place is considered to be very ancient as Ramer built a bridge to go to Sri Lanka. Thirumangaiyalwar used himself as a woman and performed the Mangalasasana of Ithalattu Perumala. Besides, Andal, Thirumalisaiyalvar and Kulasekarazhvar have sung about the Sethu bridge here. Jagannath, who is half the size (statue size) of the Pancha Darshanampuri site, is in full view here. Thus the place is called ‘Datsina Jegannatham’. Adi Jegannathar (seated kolam), Sayanaramar (lying kolam), Pattabhramar (standing kolam), Arasamara Perumal, Pattabhramar are the five forms of Mahavishnu and the three kolas can be seen in the title.
