Introduction
Sundarapuram Valeeswarar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Sundarapuram village, Coimbatore district, Tamil Nadu.Here the Primary deity is called as Valeeswarar and Mother is called as Vadivambika.
Puranic Significance
Among the 38 Shiva temples on the banks of the Noyal River, this temple was rebuilt by Karikala Chola in the 3rd century. An old Shiva temple dates back to AD 987-1018 in Coimbatore Purana.
It is believed that if you crawl 12 times around the outer temple of this temple which is situated towards the east direction, you will get blessings like marriage and child birth. Devotees coming to the temple should first go around the Prakaram and worship Adhivinayaka, Nandi, Vallabhavinayaka and Moolavar valeeswarar. Then worship Vallidevasena sameda subramaniyan, Vadivambal and Nataraja and Navagraha.
