Introduction
Sri Bagalamukhi Devi temple is rarely found in India. Sree Suryamangalam Advaitha Veda Vidhya Peetam took a decision to build a temple for Sree Bagalamukhi Devi for the first time in South India at Kallidaikurichi, Therkku Pappankulam village in Thirunelveli District of Tamilnadu. The Temple is believed to be 1000 years old. His Holiness Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetathipathi Jagadguru Pooja Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Sankaracharya Swamiji blessed and laid the foundation stone for the construction work of the temple.
Puranic Significance
Legends say that Ambal is blessed in ten forms called Dasamakavidya. Matangi, Bhuvaneswari, Pagalamuki, Tripurasundari, Tara, Magali, Mahalakshmi, Chinnamastha, Dumavathi, Bhairavi are the Dasamakavidya forms. Among them, Bagalamuki is the one who protects the good ones from the enemies.
Beliefs
If you sacrifice to Bagalamuki on the new moon, the fear will go away. Get success in lawsuits. Sacrifice on Suklashtami removes pre-existing sin, ancestral curse and rakutosham. If the puja is performed on Povurnami, good deeds including removal of marriage ban, child blessing, good job and promotion will take place.
Special Features
Bagalamuki is a combination of the two words Bagala and muki. The word Bagala is derived from the word valka. This means she has a face that oppresses the enemy. She is the one who bears the burden of suffering when her devotees stumble. Bagalamuki blesses from here in the parkadal. Yellow lotus flowers bloom in her place. She shows the teenager with a smirk on her head. Dressed in yellow, she has two types of idols, the one with the seat called Dhuvipujam and the one with the four arms called Chaturbujam. On the upper right hand is a weapon called the three arms, and on the upper left is a weapon. The right hand is showered with grace. In the meantime, she has cut out the tongue of the enemy who is torturing her devotees. Bagalamuki is also known as Pitambara Devi and Brahmastra Roubini. She is the abode of the opposite forces of peace, tumult, wisdom, ignorance, strength, powerlessness, success and failure. The famous Bagalamuki Temple is located at Kuma in the Mandi region of Himachal Pradesh. There is a beautiful temple dedicated to Bagalamuki in Kashi.
