Introduction

The presence of Sthalam Ganesha in the attire is a unique feature that is not found anywhere else. The temple was built by the Cholas. This is one of the temples rebuilt by the people of the city.

Puranic Significance

To protect themselves from the demons, the gods came to visit Lord Shiva. He was in a yoga position and was forced to wake up. They malarkaṇaikaḷai touch the wreaths on him.
