Introduction
Second Battalion House – Vriddhachalam-Aalathu Pillaiyar. Palamalainathar Temple is a Saiva Shiva temple located in Virudhachalam in Cuddalore district. Sthalam is one of the ganapathi house greatest the great “Aalathu pillaiyar”. It is one of the central sites for Thevara songs. Viruthakriswarar Temple is a huge temple in Vriddhachalam which is considered to be the equivalent of Kasi Temple. The deep child has risen here. The junction has depth as the name implies. You have to go down the stairs to see Ganesha. It is a deep belief that worshiping him will bring education and wealth. Nandavanam is located around the Chakra Theertham made by Thirumal’s Chakra. There is a 28-acre temple in the north-west corner of the palace. History has it that Lord Murugan anointed all the 29 Agamas as Shivalingas. These monks have received the names of the Agamas from Kamikesuvar to Vadulesar Ira.
Puranic Significance
In the first outer precinct, the underground Ganesha junction, also known as the Deep Ganesha, is located about 18 feet deep on the east side. This Ganesha ranks second among the sacrificial houses of Ganesha. There are 28 akamas in vegetarianism. These are dedicated to Lord Murugan in 28 lingams. These lingams are located in a separate shrine in the north-western part of the Kailash Prakaram. Ganesha is in the middle of the lingams in the southern row and Murugan is in the middle of the lingams in the west with Valli Deivana. This system is a feature not found anywhere else. This temple is also known as Agama Temple.

The most important feature of this temple is the number “5”. The temple has 5 towers, 5 nandis, 5 chariots and 5 flagpoles. Aalathu Ganesha in this temple is one of the six houses of Ganesha. Head history indicates that Veesam (Tamil scale) is more blessed than Kasi. Due to this, it has the nickname of Viruthakasi. 63 statue of the Nayans is beautifully designed for viewing. It makes history feel special.
