Puranic Significance
The Temple is believed to be 1000 years old. Lord is medium size lingam. Ambigai and Vinayakar Valli Deivanai Sametha Murugan Bhairava are placed inside the front hall. Outside the mukha mandapam there is a Nandi altar on a raised platform. The goddess has a sanctum facing south. The Ganesha sanctum on the south side is largely in ruins. There is only a small Nandi. There are no other gods. Tenmukhan is also seen to be badly damaged. The Murugan Sanctum on the north side is slightly bigger. Sandesar shrine is small.
