Introduction
Sannanallur Kailasanathar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Sannanallur village, Nannilam circle, Thiruvarur district, Tamil Nadu. Sannanallur is 27 km away on the Mayiladuthurai – Tiruvarur road. The family deity of the Kavara sect of the Nayak tribes is called Chennammal Nallur and is now known as Sannanallur. This is a Small Shiva temple near a large pond. The temple is facing towards the east side, here the primary deity is called as Lord Kailasanathar facing towards the east side and Mother is called as Akilandeswari facing south. The temple is currently being renovated. The Temple is believed to be 500 years old.
Vinayagar is known as Selva Vinayagar in South West. Murugan sanctum sanctorum has a large front hall. Vinayagar Dakshinamurthy and Chandikeshuvarar in this temple. There are also Durga shrines. Bhairava is on a floor in the northeast. The temple conducts a periodical puja under the control of the Hindu Charity Department.
