Introduction
Saliyamangalam Chidambareswarar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Saliyamangalam village, Papanasam taluk, Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu. There are two Shiva temples in this town. The one Shiva temple in the east and another temple in the north east. To the north-east is the Chidambareswarar temple. This temple is located next to the bypass road that goes around the town. There is a large pond in the northeast of the town.This temple is located on its bank.Here the Lord is called as Chidambareswarar and Mother is called as Sivakamasundari.
Puranic Significance
The Temple is believed to be 1000 years old. Although this temple is facing towards the east side; the south side is dominated by a small gate. The temple has recently been discovered. The bright colour illuminates the entire temple. Lord Chidambareshwara has a Sanctum towards the east and Lord Shiva towards the south. Nandi is in a small hall beyond the main hall in front of the Lord. Only Tenmugan and Durga are among Karurai. Vinayaka subramaniya and Mahakalakshmi all have separate sanctum. Adjacent to Vinayaka there is a big bow tree. In the space between Subramanya and Lakshmi, Mariamman and Dharmasasha are placed.
