  • Role of Kaal-Bhairav: Kaal-Bhairav is one of the 52 Bhairavs and is considered the door-keeper of Devi (the goddess). It is believed that one must first seek Darshan (viewing) and perform Puja (worship) at the Bhairava Temple before visiting the Maa Mahamaya Temple. This practice is thought to ensure proper worship and blessings from Maa Mahamaya.
  • Historical Context: While the temple holds significant religious and cultural importance, its exact historical origins are not well-documented, contributing to its mystique and the reverence it commands among devotees.

Special Features:

  • Idol: The temple houses a towering nine-foot-tall idol of Kaal-Bhairav. This idol was originally placed on an open platform before the construction of the temple by Baba Gyanagiri Gosai.
