Introduction
Pinnavasal Agatheeswarar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Pinnavasal village, Thiruvarur circle, Thiruvarur district, Tamil Nadu. There are two temples in this village, Shiva and Perumal. Both the temples have been reconstructed after about 100 years. Here the Primary deity is called as Agatheeswarar because he is worshiped as Agathyar lingamurthi. A temple has been erected for the Lord as a single room facing east. Ambika is towards the south side and his name is unknown.
A long tin shed is built on the facade. Karurai Kotams include Tenmugan in the north and Durga in the North West. There is a Bhairava shrine in the north east facing. There is a Vinayaka and a Lingam under a banyan tree in the southern area. This is one of the temples that have changed over time.
