- Location: Situated in Perianaickenpalayam, Coimbatore District, Tamil Nadu, about 25 kilometers from Coimbatore.
- Presiding Deity: Lord Ranganathar, who appears in a standing posture facing east.
- Other Deities: Thumbikkai Azhwar and Mother grace the devotees from their respective shrines.
- Geography: The temple is nestled between two hills, creating a scenic and serene environment.
Puranic Significance
- Maharshi Kalava’s Penance:
- Maharshi Kalava performed penance for many years to receive the darshan of Lord Narayana.
- Durmadha, a demon born out of a curse from Sage Vasishta, harassed Kalava.
- Kalava prayed to Lord Narayana, who granted him darshan and subdued the demon, thus relieving him of his curse.
- This event is believed to have taken place at this temple.
- King Nanda Boopala and His Son Darma Gupta:
- King Nanda Boopala renounced his kingdom to meditate on Lord Narayana, leaving his son Darma Gupta to rule.
- Darma Gupta, cursed by a bear for breaching trust, became a lunatic.
- To cure his son, King Nanda took him to Sage Jaimini, who advised a dip in Palamalai Theertha and worship of Lord Ranganatha.
- Darma Gupta was cured, marking another significant event associated with the temple.
Temple Features
- Deity Form: Lord Ranganatha is in a standing posture, facing east, bringing peace to devotees.
- Surroundings: The temple is surrounded by lush greenery, with green trees lining the path, making it easy for devotees to climb the hill.
- Construction: Originally, construction faced challenges due to the lack of sufficient stones. One day, a large rock split, and the temple’s construction proceeded with these rock splits.
- Modern Developments:
- A road was built for easier access, allowing vehicles up to the temple.
- A private sector firm contributed to the construction of a large mandap.
- The Padma Theertham tank was cleaned and restored, becoming a beautiful feature of the temple.

- Relief from Curses: Devotees facing the impact of curses pray here for relief.
- Special Rituals: Devotees perform Tirumanjanam (sacred bathing) for Lord Ranganatha and Mother, offering sweet pudding (sarkarai pongal) as nivedhana.
