Introduction
Perambalur Kailasanathar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, Located in the Perambalur town, Virudhachalam Circle, Cuddalore district, Tamil Nadu. This Shiva temple is situated on the bank of the lake at the front of the town. The old temple may have been destroyed, but now we see a new and beautiful temple. Here the Presiding deity is called as Kailasanathar and Mother is called as Kalyanasundari.
Puranic Significance
Here the Lord Kailasanathar is facing east and Ambikai kalyanasundari is on his left with an east facing Sanctum. It is called Kalyanagolam and hence the name of Ambikai is Kalyanasundari. Kailasanathar will be a thousand years old temple in this town. A medium-sized lingamurti of the Lord is placed in front of him, a beautiful Nandi is placed in front of the shrine, and a small lion vehicle is placed in front of the mother. In front of it, Lord Murugan is seated in the Sanctum.
In the sanctum sanctorum, only Tenmugan has been installed in a single Sanctum. There are no other deities in the temple. Navagrahas are in the northeast of the temple.
