Introduction

Pattamangalam Abhimukeswara Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, Located in the Pattamangalam village, Kilvellur circle, Nagapattinam district, Tamil Nadu.This Pattamangalam village is located on the Vellore – Devur Road, 2 km south of Kilvellur. This is a Small temple in the south of the town called as Abhimukeshwara Temple. There is a big pond right in front of the temple.  Here the Presiding deity is called as Abhimukeshwarar and Mother is called as Anandavalli.

Puranic Significance 

The temple is said to be more than 1000 years old.  As the Lord faces west, he has become Abhimukeshwar under the name Abhimukham konda eswarar. The Lord is a big Lingamurthy. The temple has been under renovation for the past few years. There is a small shrine towards the south of the temple, named Anandavalli.

A long roof has been erected in front of the Lord in which there is also a Nandi altar. There is Vinayagar Murugan at the sanctum sanctorum gate. There are Thenmugan and Durgai as Goshtamurtis.
