Introduction

500- Years old Muniyappasamy temple is located in the Nochikkattu Valasu village in Erode district, Tamil Nadu. Here the Primary deity is called as Muniyappaswamy. The name Nochikkatu Valasu came to be where Nochi trees were found in this place. Also, in the place where the temple is now, there were white rocks earlier and they were cut down and the temple was built, so Muneeswaran who graces here is called White Muniyappa Swamy.  The temple is 6 km from Erode

Puranic Significance 

On the eastern wall of the temple there are carvings. The words written on the gate say Come and have Swami Darshan in traditional dress. On entering, there are 5-stone swings and vels, where devotees pray for child birth, and on the right side three horse-drawn carriages about 30 feet high. Underneath it are numerous figures ranging from children to adults. These are offered by devotees to Muniyappa Swamy for redressal of their grievances. On the left side, two horses and two cows are visible.

Beliefs

    He is worshiped for giving birth, building a house and vehicle, getting rid of illness and getting career development, getting rid of obstacles in work. A red rope is tied on the right hand especially for those suffering from the disease. Hence it is said that there is development in health. Accomplished devotees offer Abhisheka worship to Muniyappa Swami and express their gratitude by offering goat and chicken to Mahamuni.

Special Features

       Three Muniyappasamys have emerged as the central figures of the temple. Below the statue in the middle are Swayambu Muniappa Swamy, Ondiveeran and Kannimar on the left and Karupparayan on the right. All abhisheka prayers are performed to Swayambu Muniyappa Sami. There is a separate shrine for Karpaka Ganesha in the south-west. In the north-west corner there is a type of tree called the ancient Ayam tree.

Special worships are offered to Muniyappa Swamy on Friday Amavasya and special days.
