Introduction
Nellikuppam Shiva Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Nellikuppam village, Panruti taluk, Cuddalore district. Nellikuppam is famous for “E.I.D Parry Sugar Mill”; it has been operating proudly for 178 years with the name of Tamil Nadu’s first sugar mill. The office staffs of this mill have a hundred year old residential building on the main roads. Mainly there is a Vinayagar temple with a row of fruit trees and a Nawal tree in the background. They used to worship it as a god. Now a few years ago a lingamurthi and ambika were created and consecrated and it has been converted into a small temple. There is a small Nandi and altar in front of the Lord. Here the primary deity is called as Shiva and Mother is called as Shakthi.
