Pancha Ratna Temple: The Radha Krishna Temple is designed in the Pancha Ratna style, which translates to “Five Gems.” This architectural style is characterized by the presence of five spires or shikharas. The temple is built on a square sanctum and features five spires in a row, with the central one being larger than the four corner ones.
Missing Southeast Corner Ratna: While the temple originally had five spires, it appears that the southeast corner spire is now missing. Over time, parts of the temple have fallen into a state of disrepair.
Architectural Details: The temple’s architecture showcases elements typical of the 19th century in Bengal. It features sharply curved cornices, an arched entrance on the south side, and panel decorations. The wall of the temple is 63 centimeters thick, highlighting the temple’s robust construction.
Corner Turrets: The central spire, along with the four corner turrets, has miniature openings. Each of these corner turrets has four openings, contributing to the temple’s overall design.
Panel Decorations: The south and other sides of the temple exhibit imitation doorway designs and paneled bands, adding to the temple’s ornate and decorative elements.
