- Temple Dedicated to: Goddess Prathiyangara Devi.
- Location: Moratandi Village, near Pondicherry in Villupuram District, Tamil Nadu.
- Situated: Along NH 32 (Chennai to Nagapattinam Highway), between Tindivanam and Pondicherry.
- Statue Features: 72 feet tall statue of Goddess Prathiyangara Devi with a lion head, bulging eyes, a long skull necklace, and blue skin.
- Weapons: Right hand holds a Trishul (Trident), left hand holds a head.
- Underground Temple: Small temple about 4 feet underground where poojas are performed.
- Sarabeswarar Temple: Located on the left side of the temple with a large idol of Sarabeswarar.
Puranic Significance
- Divine Origins: Goddess Prathiyangara is a lion-headed form of the divine mother, created to calm Lord Narasimha after he killed the demon Hiranyakasipu.
- Role in Mythology:
- After Hiranyakasipu’s death, Lord Narasimha’s anger did not subside.
- Gods approached Lord Shiva to calm him.
- Lord Shiva manifested as Lord Sarabeswara, but Narasimha remained angry.
- Goddess Prathiyangara: Appeared with Shoolini Durga to give wisdom to Lord Narasimha, finally calming him.
- Protection: Prathiyangara Devi is believed to protect her devotees from all types of harm.

- Prathyangira Homam: Performed every month on Shukla Paksha Ashtami (Waxing Moon).
- Special Poojas: Held every New Moon Day.
