Introduction
A Shiva temple about 1200 years old is found in the village of Melkadirpur. The village is located at a distance of 8 km from Kanchipuram. Lord Sri Karutadi is called Easwarar. History has it that in the past, elephants came here and damaged the crops, so Lord Shiva accepted the request and chased away the elephants with a stick. Hence the causal name Garlic is called Easwarar. Ganesha and Bala Subramanian have a temple in the small temple Mahamandapam. Chandikeswar has a shrine near Gomugam. Beautiful Nandi Thevar in the hall outside. All the festivals here are celebrated. The important ones are Shivaratri 4 period, Annabhishekam, Thirukarthikai Day Puja is held.
