Introduction
Melavadukkudi Shiva Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, Located in the Melavadukkudi village, Nannilam circle, Thiruvarur district. Vadugakudi is a small village in the northern bank of the confluence of Arasalar and Keerthiman rivers in the east of Thiruveezhimizhalai. Here the presiding deity is called as Lord Shiva in the form of lingam. The temple, which was once a big temple on the banks of the river, has fallen into disrepair, and people keep a lingamurthy and Nandi in the centre of the town in a tin shed. The temple is said to be more than 1000 years old. Probably one of the Ashta Tiku temples of Thiruveezhimizhalai.
