Introduction
Lakkapuram Temple is dedicated to Lord Murugan, located in the Lakkapuram village, Erode district, Tamilnadu. Here the Presiding deity is called as Kumara Subramaniya Swamy. The 500 year old Kumara Subramanian Temple is located in a Small hilllock with 53 steps. Kumara Subramanian Temple is located on the Shenbaga hill in Lakkapuram, nine kilometres from the Erode bus stand.
Puranic Significance
The Temple is believed to be 500years old. And the beautiful front hall built elaborate to enter the temple is the sanctum sanctorum with the lantern, the flagpole, the altar, and the peacock vehicle. On outside the Ardha Mandapam the Dwarapalakars and Lord Ganesha can see.On the right side of the path, a statue of Lord Murugan is carved in the shape of a swastika. In the sanctum sanctorum, the place is blessed by Lord Murugan with the name of Kumara Subramanian.
Beliefs
It is the hope of the devotees that the daily puja will be held at 10 am on Tuesday to alleviate various demands such as removal of barriers to education, employment, marriage ban and child blessing.
Festivals
The temple also celebrates special worships on the days of the new moon, Vaikasi Visakam, Kandasashti Kalyanam, Karthika Deepam, Thaipusam and Panguni Uttiram.
