Introduction
Inamkiliyur Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Inamkiliyur village, Papanasam circle, Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu. The temple is under palm trees in a large field behind a house on the street leading to the middle of the town. Here there is a temple that is more than a thousand years old and after it has completely crumbled, only the lingam from it can be seen today. The lingam, which is slightly less than the height of the man, is decorated with Padma carvings. The ancient foundation of the temple on the west side. There is also a Nandi directly opposite the Lord. A broken idol of Jeshta Devi can be seen in the temple. Today, the temple is only a sign of the temple’s history; the lingam is in the small shed and believed to be more than 1000 years old.
