Introduction
Radha Govinda Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu located in Gobindanagar village in the Daspur I CD block in the Ghatal subdivision of the Paschim Medinipur district in the state of West Bengal, India. The Temple is one of the state protected monuments in West Bengal declared by Archaeological Survey of IndiaThe temple is situated on Panskura to Daspur route.
Puranic Significance
The temple is believed to be built in 1682 CE. The temple follows pancha ratna style of architecture. The temple has a square flat roof with curved cornices with a pinnacle at the centre flanked by four smaller pinnacles at the corner of the roof. The temple is facing towards east and stands over a raised platform. The temple consists of sanctum and verandah with a triple arched entrance. The façade is embellished with rich terracotta ornamentation.
