Puranic Significance
A temple was built and worshiped at this place several hundred years ago during the Cholas rule. Over time, the temple was destroyed and the Lord hid himself in the soil, and the people also forgot about the Lord. A few years ago, the Lord who wanted to manifest Himself appeared to a boy dream from this village.
The next day the boy did not bother to tell his parents about the dream he had. But after a few days, the boy had the same dream again. This time he told his parents they told the public about the dream. Those who heard that probably thought that there was going to be treasure and started digging at that particular spot. Expecting a treasure of gold, they saw Lord Shiva’s Linga Thirumeni there, so they took it outside and set up a small shed and started worshipping. They gradually developed and conducted Kumbabhishekam. Coincidentally, Eason was given his name of Kashi Vishwanathar, followed by Kashi Vishalakshi
Beliefs
Those who worship him get the blessing of marriage, get children, and get rid of debts and problems.
