Introduction
- Dedicated to Lord Jagannath, Baladeva, and Subhadra.
- Located in Kannathur, Chennai, off the East Coast Road by the seaside.
- Built in the Kalinga style of architecture, resembling the Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha.
- Has shrines for Shiva, Ganesh, and Bimala.
- Annual Rathyatra is the major festival celebrated.
- Situated on Reddy Kuppam Road, off New Mahabalipuram Road.
Puranic Significance:
- Consecrated on 26 January 2001.
- Idols of deities made from neem wood, similar to those in Puri.
- Temple built using black granite from Kancheepuram and white marble from Rajasthan.
- 22 marble steps lead up to the shrine.
- The pooja is conducted in Oriya style by priests from Orissa.
- The temple is set in a 1-acre landscaped area, with flowers from the garden used in the worship.
