Introduction

Ya-da-na-myit-zu temple (18th Century) is a small single-story building shaped like a Greek cross with openings on the north, south, and east sides. It contains a small central chamber measuring 3.47 x 3.45 meters, housing a marble seated image of the Buddha against the rear (west) wall.

The temple was either restored or built from scratch in the 18th century when Bagan experienced a minor renaissance under the patronage of Konbaung-era kings. All inertial murals date from that period and remain in good condition, as does the exterior stucco-work.
