Introduction
Monument 1374 (c. 13th century) is a small temple located north of Myinkaba village, about 130 meters north of the Kubyauk-gyi temple. Although measuring just 8 x 10 meters in plan, the temple includes a stunning variety of well-preserved stucco ornament and original mural paintings on the interior. The interior of the temple is dominated by a seated Buddha with its back resting against a stone slab. Behind him is a painted representation of a stylized bodhi tree, beneath which the Buddha obtained enlightenment. Though the Buddha image is restored, its chest and left legs are original—the head, arms, and right leg were missing prior to restoration.
