Mother Goddess: The temple also houses a shrine dedicated to the Mother Goddess, known as Kanagavalli.

- The temple is believed to be between 500 to 1000 years old, making it one of the oldest temples in Chennai.
- Despite its age, the temple is relatively small in size and features a five-tiered Raja Gopuram (temple tower).
