Introduction
Anakkattucheri Agatheeswarar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Anakkattucheri village, Thiruvallur district, Tamil Nadu. Here the Presiding deity is called as Agatheeswarar and Mother is called as Akilandeshwari.
It is believed to be a temple built around 1500 years ago during the rule of the Pandyas. Agatheeswarar is present in the temple as utshavar and Moolavar. The pillars in the temples are decorated with intricate fish carvings at many places. It is auspicious that all the needs of the person who comes to the temple will be fulfilled.
Women worship Amman by gathering around the royal tree and lighting oil lamps. The main tree of the temple is a mango tree. The main festivals of the temple are Navratri and Shivratri.
