Legend of Srinivasacharya:
- Srinivasacharya, a devotee from Melkote, dreamt of Lord Lakshmi Narasimha, instructing him to visit Ahobilam, renounce worldly life, and establish the Ahobilam Mutt.
- With his guru’s blessings, he traveled to Ahobilam, where he was welcomed by Mukundaraya, a local chief, under the Lord’s divine direction.
- Lord Narasimha, appearing as a saint, initiated him into sannyasa and bestowed the name Sathakopa Jeeyar, entrusting him with the task of spreading Vaishnavism.
- When unsure of which Utsava Murthy to carry, Sathakopa Jeeyar meditated. Miraculously, the idol of Malola Narasimha flew into his hands.
- The Paduka adorning the Utsava Murthy signifies the Lord’s readiness to embark on journeys with the Jeeyar, blessing devotees across regions.
