Introduction

Vambori Kholeshwar Mandir is dedicated to Lord Shiva as Kholeshwar. The temple is located in the Vambori Village in Rahuri Taluka in Ahmednagar District of Maharashtra State, India. This shiva temple is 1000 years old temple. The legend says, that Valmiki wrote Ramayana about the left shrine shiva at Vambori. After descending from Vambori Ghat along with Manjarsumba and Rameshwar through the mountain range of Garbhagiri, reach Vambori village. The distance from Ahmednagar city to the village is 25 km. The doorway of the sanctum sanctorum is decorated with beautiful sculptures and although colorful, the original beauty has been diminished. The temple is partially dilapidated condition. Nandi is seated in front of the temple and, can see some of the remains of the temple in the vicinity of the temple premises.
