Introduction

Tholar is near Pennadam and Irayur. It is a small village and temple is located on the upper bank of a small lake. Presumably this is the temple built by Hoysela generals in the area at that time who came to help Rajarajan the third against Pandiyas . The large complex is surrounded by granite walls around the temple. The temple is in a very dilapidated condition, On the outer street behind the temple a large chariot has been waiting for the Lord’s chariot for many years. # “With the kind permission of Sri Kadambur K.
