The statue was kept here for some time and then taken to southern Tamil Nadu. The place where Natarajar was placed in this area is called KuttanVaithaKarai = Kuttavakkarai and Ananda Kuttan. Natarajar must have been kept in the oldest Shiva temple in this Samiyam. The temple is not there today and is completely dilapidated.
