Introduction

On the Pennadam-Thittakudi road, two km before Thittakudi is the village of Kozhiyur. Here is the Shiva temple in the middle of the village. Despite being a village of several thousand people, the temple is in a state of disrepair. It was not only the villagers who were paralyzed, because over time the majority castes were not allowed inside the temple . As a result they created deities and temples for themselves. At present as the Brahmins left the villages the temples under their care are beginning to fall into disrepair. Renovation of these temples alone will not change the status. The sanctum sanctorum is a stone masonry work and the gopuram is a brick work. The shrines have Ganesha and Murugan.
