Introduction

Kannikulam village is located 8 KM from Uthiramerur town of Kanchipuram district, where an ancient semi ruined Siva temple exists. There are two structures remaining one for Sivan and another for Ambal. The name of the Lord is Sri Kanniswarar and the name of Ambal is not known. Presently the temple is surrounded by greenery. However one Mr. Kannan is coming here regularly to perform pujas. There is a mention in Kadamba Puranam about this temple. To reach here take a diversion at Manalmedu village on Kanchipuram-Uthiramerur road.
