Introduction

The temple is located in the village of Aviyur in the Virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is in complete disrepair. They are split in two as the tree sprouts in the middle of the sanctuary. Nandithevar is seen opposite the sanctum sanctorum. The roof, with no plane, shows the Lord in the shade of the trees. There are no idols in the temple except moolavar and nandi.
