Puranic Significance
This Shiva temple faces west so that one can benefit from seeing the hundred Shiva temples facing east, and Ambika is facing east side. This is a wonderful scene, and will call it the lord wedding. Thus it is doomed that the blessing of marriage will be available immediately who prays to God. In front of the sanctum sanctorum there is a hall in which there is a Ganesha at the entrance of the sanctum sanctorum. To the north of the Lord’s Sanctuary is the Sanders Sanctuary. There is a Ganesha temple to the east in the southwest and a sanctum sanctorum to Murugan in the northwest. At the entrance of the temple, there is a vilva tree that stands tall on the side. Although the temple is largely undamaged, the canopy has been missing for many years. # “With the kind permission of Sri Kadambur K. Vijayan, these are extracted from his posts”.
