Introduction
Moongilkudi Kailasanathar temple is dedicated to lord shiva located in the Moongilkudi village, Nannilam circle, in the Thiruvarur district, Tamil Nadu. Presiding deity is called as Kailasanathar, and Mother is called as Kamatchi amman. The temple is 1000 years old shiva temple. To the east of the temple is a large pond. The temple was completely destroyed by the roots of a huge tree that thundered today as the millennium glory was left unmaintained. Some good souls have taken only the idols and kept them in a separate tin shed. Lord Shiva is accompanied by Lord Ganesha and Lord Murugan Nandi Bhairav. “With the kind permission of Sri Kadambur K.
