Introduction
Manakkunnam Kailasanathar Shiva Temple is dedicated to lord shiva, located in the Manakkunnam village, Thiruvidaimarudur Circle, Thanjavur District, Tamil Nadu state, India. The presiding deity is called as Kailasanthar, Mother is called as Kamatchi. The temple of the Lord is located on the banks of a large pond on the eastern boundary of the town. Even though the people had not come for many years, the temples were ruined so that the eternal blackness in the temples would stop. The Temple is believed to be 500-1000 years old. The cracked and missing walls, the shrines were attacked for some time, some of the statues were broken, and some were torn down. Both of the dilapidated sanctuaries had, for many years. A group of servants put a tin shed on the lingam in the clearing and twisted the pillar for work. There is only Lingam and Ganesha in the sanctum sanctorum.
