Puranic Significance
Poologanathar graces the west side of the sanctum sanctorum. Local devotees say that, by the grace of this Swami, marriage barriers will be removed and growth in public life will be added”. Opposite the Mother’s Sannidhi to the south are the Sannidhis of Surya, Kalabhairava, Saneeswarar, Kasi Vishwanathar and Kasi Visalachchi. The temple also houses the shrines of Ganesha, Valli-Deivayana Sametha Murugan, Kajalakshmi and Datsinamoorthy.
