Introduction

Irulakurichi Shiva Temple is dedicated to lord shiva, located in the Irulakurichi village, Virudhachalam Circle, Cuddalore District, Tamil Nadu state, India. This village name is because the area is inhabited by dark ethnic people. Before entering the town here is the Shiva temple on the west bank of a large pond. The presiding deity is called as Lord shiva in lingam form, Facing east, the Lord is a medium-sized Shivalinga. The name of the Lord could not be known. It is a small temple with Ganesha and Murugan at the gate. There is little Nandi in front of the Lord. On the north side of the temple there is an idol of Ambika in a separate Shed which does not belong to this Shiva temple. The Temple is believed to be 500-1000 years old.
